JetBlue Airways Launches Buy TrueBlue Points Service
TrueBlue Members Now Able to Buy or Give Points to Earn Faster Reward Travel
(PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- JetBlue Airways Corporation (Nasdaq:JBLU) today announces the launch of Buy TrueBlue(r) Points service that will allow members of the low-fare airline's customer loyalty program, TrueBlue, more ways to earn free travel. In a partnership with Points International Ltd. (OTCBB:PTSEF) (TSX:PTS) -- owner and operator of the world's leading reward-management portal, Points.com -- TrueBlue members will now be able to buy points for themselves or give points to other members via Points.com's industry-leading points-purchase platform.
"Allowing members to purchase TrueBlue Points will help them achieve their award goals faster and enhances the value of our loyalty program," said JetBlue Director of Loyalty Marketing Dave Canty. "Points.com has a terrific reputation in the industry. We are pleased to be working with them as we introduce the first of several enhancements to the TrueBlue program."
"We are excited to be working with such an innovative airline," Points International CEO Rob MacLean said. "And we are pleased to be able to offer TrueBlue members the opportunity to reach award levels faster by purchasing TrueBlue Points, for themselves or for friends and family."
Points International will take a lead role in the operation, marketing and commercial transaction support for the Buy TrueBlue Points service, which will be available when members log in to TrueBlue. The Points.com Buy & Gift service enables members of many frequent flyer programs to purchase additional miles or points online. Like the Buy TrueBlue Points site, other programs' websites are fully hosted and maintained by Points.com and are accessible from links on each program's site. Private-branded to any program website's "look and feel" (including branding, color, graphics, images, language, etc.), they create a straightforward and seamless member experience.
TrueBlue, which launched in 2002, has experienced rapid membership growth since its inception and now boasts more than six million members. Unlike traditional frequent flier programs, TrueBlue members earn points instead of 'miles' for flights flown. Each JetBlue route is classified as short, medium or long-haul, and customers can earn points for each one-way trip: two points for a short flight; four points for a medium flight; and six points for a long flight. Points are automatically doubled when TrueBlue members book via www.jetblue.com. A free roundtrip flight, valid for travel to any of JetBlue's destinations across the U.S., Bermuda, Mexico and the Caribbean, is awarded after a customer reaches 100 points (a). Each TrueBlue Award is made up of two TruePasses, each valid for a one-way flight. TruePasses can be used together or separately, making a TrueBlue Award even more flexible.
Customers can earn TrueBlue points even faster by using the JetBlue Card from American Express. Every time Cardmembers purchase JetBlue travel with the Card, or earn at least one TrueBlue point through other purchasing using the Card, all TrueBlue points in the member's account automatically extend for another 12 months. The low-fare airline also offers the JetBlue Business Card from American Express, which allows small business owners to save 5 percent on JetBlue flights when payment is made with the JetBlue Business Card (b). Now, in addition to providing consumers a way to earn TrueBlue points when they are not flying, JetBlue's American Express Card products make it possible for them to accrue points without worrying about point expiration dates. Currently, only the primary JetBlue Cardmember has the ability to extend their TrueBlue point expiration dates.
For more information about TrueBlue, or to register to become a member, visit www.jetblue.com/trueblue.

Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) today takes another step forward in its strategy to become customers’ global airline of choice with delivery of the first of eight Boeing 777-200LR Longer Range jets scheduled to enter its fleet by early 2009. By adding the world’s longest range commercial jetliner to its fleet, Delta bolsters its ability to connect customers and cargo between virtually any two cities around the globe, nonstop. The aircraft will enter scheduled service March 8 flying between Atlanta and Los Angeles and will fly on March 9 from Atlanta to Tokyo.
“This 777-200LR marks an important milestone for Delta as our first new delivery from Boeing in six years, as well as another step forward in creating a truly global airline,” said Edward Bastian, Delta president and chief financial officer. “This aircraft, along with seven more 777-200LRs we’ll add over the next year, will allow us to connect customers nonstop to most any point across Asia, India and the Middle East from our hubs in Atlanta and New York.”
Delta received the new aircraft during an event at Boeing Field in Seattle attended by Bastian and more than 100 Delta employees. Privacy screens incorporating pull-out meal table, fold-out 10.6-inch personal video screen, integrated footrest and personal stowage compartment for bags, shoes or blankets;
Immediate access to the aisle so customers do not have to disturb another passenger when exiting their seat; and
USB ports offering charging ability for personal MP3 players.
Delta plans to offer sleeper suites with these amenities on its entire 777 fleet by 2010.
Customers flying BusinessElite on any Delta international aircraft enjoy Delta on Demand featuring first-run and popular classic movies, music, TV programming and video games – all available on demand; a five-course menu offering culinary creations by celebrity chef Michelle Bernstein, including an appetizer, soup or salad, and choice of four entrees (including a vegetarian selection); a reinvented wine program launched in February by Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson featuring wines from around the world; new full-size pillows, duvets; modern and stylish dinnerware; and in-seat power outlets (110 Volt) that allow customers to recharge their laptops without the need for an adaptor.
Delta’s 777-200LR aircraft will offer customers flying in coach comfortable new, all leather slim-line seats each with on-demand music, movies, games and television on individual 9-inch video monitors. JetBlue Airways Announces Spacious, Bright and More Comfortable Redesign of A320 Cabins
(PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Low-fare, high-value JetBlue Airways Corporation (Nasdaq:JBLU) today announces it has taken delivery of its first A320 aircraft to boast a newly redesigned cabin, offering customers improved seat comfort and more personal space. All of the low-cost carrier's scheduled A320 future deliveries, a total of 88 aircraft, will feature these new cabin enhancements.
Onboard experience improvements include: lightweight, all-leather RECARO seats, offering more comfy cushions and increased personal space created by thinner seat profiles; new sculptured sidewall paneling, adding inches to the cabin's width and allowing more shoulder room for customers seated at the window; 10 percent more overhead bin space; and LED cabin lighting, creating a cool white tone that produces an open and more spacious ambiance.
"JetBlue took a purposeful approach to the redesign of our aircraft's interior to create a crisp, clean and more comfortable travel experience for our customers," said Michael Blancero, A320 Fleet Manager of JetBlue Airways. "These subtle changes to our seats and cabin paneling, as well as the addition of cool white lighting, create a roomier environment. Whether our customers choose to watch TV or a movie, listen to XM Satellite radio, enjoy a good book, or take a nap in our roomy leather seats with the most legroom of any airline, our new interior will deliver the JetBlue Experience our customers have come to expect of us -- only better."
In addition to improving the customer experience, the aesthetic redesign is also a lightweight solution for JetBlue, trimming 1,050 pounds per aircraft, making the aircraft lighter, which consumes less fuel per journey. The airline estimates an annual savings of $52,000 per new delivery.

Booming Beach Destinations
(ARA) - This is the time of year when the winter blues are setting in for many outside the Sun Belt, which always means big business for winter beach destinations. It’s usually not hard to spot those who’ve been sun-starved all winter, as they may be getting off airplanes in places like Boston, Detroit or Chicago in shorts when arriving home to February temperatures in the teens. The question is where are beachgoers headed during the winter months? It’s no surprise the most popular domestic winter beach destinations are in Florida, California and Hawaii. After all, they offer the most coast line, a warm climate and post card images of sunshine, palm trees and ocean waters. Internationally, the same can be said for Mexico.
These locales annually boast many of the top beach destinations. However as travel levels rise and lodging construction continues, many are also aggressively marketing their destinations, and riding the wave of tourism to lure more travelers to what are already historically popular beach cities. As a result, there’s been continued growth in many top spots.
In fact, online travel agency Orbitz recently set out for the sandy beaches to determine which winter beach destinations are the fastest growing.
Topping the Orbitz list domestically is Maui, HI, which edged out a handful of popular beach cities in Florida, as the fastest growing winter beach destination. Hawaii’s Big Island also landed the third-ranked vacation spot in Kailua-Kona, which continues to rise in popularity.
Florida landed five of the top 10 on the list, which measured percentage growth in hotel bookings from late December through the end of February over a three-year period to compile its Index. The most popular Florida beaches include Daytona Beach, which is number two, as well as Key West, Fort Lauderdale/Miami, Sarasota and Fort Myers.
California beaches in San Diego and Santa Monica were also in the top 10, as was historic Charleston, SC.
In Mexico, Cozumel continues to be among its most popular beaches and now it also has the distinction of being its fastest growing internationally, Orbitz says. At number one, Cozumel was one of six Mexican beach destinations to make the list; the others included Riviera Maya/Playa Del Carmen (number two) as well as Cancun, Acapulco, Ixtapa and Mazatlan. Negril, Jamaica, Rio de Janeiro, Aruba and Bermuda rounded out the international top 10.
When planning a beach vacation, there are a myriad of options and some destinations are better than others depending on your needs and interests. For example, some are better for families, romance or a getaway with friends. Some tips to keep in mind when planning a winter beach getaway:
* Book a vacation package and book online. Combining air and hotel is a great way to save on trip costs. Online booking can also help you save.
* Be flexible with travel dates. Traveling at off-peak times will enable you to avoid some of the crowds and find better rates.
* Plan and book early. Generally, the further in advance you can book, the better your chances of finding a good deal.
* It’s never too late! While it’s always advisable to plan ahead and book early, it’s never too late to get away. If you’re still anxious to go but haven’t booked yet, keep your eye out for last-minute specials and you might be surprised by what you find.
* If flying out of a cold weather climate, take the earliest flight possible. Your chances of incurring a delay are much greater late in the day.
* If you can, leave the laptop and PDA behind. It’s much easier to unwind with sand between your toes if you leave your work at home.

Delta and Gen Art Toast Second Annual Delta’s Fly-In Movies Short Film Contest Winner
Actress Cheryl Hines Hosts Celebratory Party at SKY360 by Delta – Park City for Vancouver Filmmaker, Robert Kirbyson, during 2008 Sundance Film Festival; Kirbyson receives cash prize and round-trip tickets from Delta
Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) toasted the winner of its second annual national short film competition, Delta’s Fly-In Movies, at a celebratory party hosted Wednesday night by Cheryl Hines at SKY360° by Delta - Park City during the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. Vancouver filmmaker Robert Kirbyson was awarded the top prize for his film “Ctrl Z.” In addition to the trip to Sundance, Kirbyson receives a $10,000 cash award and a pair of round-trip tickets valid anywhere Delta flies worldwide.
“Ctrl Z” stars Tony Hale (“Arrested Development”) as Stuart Barnes, an office loner with a lifetime full of regrets who has a change of luck when a computer malfunction offers him the chance to magically undo his life’s mistakes. He takes full advantage, but how far is too far?
Delta, the Official Airline of the 2008 Sundance Film Festival, partnered with Gen Art – one of the leading arts and entertainment organizations dedicated to showcasing the best emerging talent in film, fashion, visual arts and music – to host the contest which offers filmmakers a unique opportunity to showcase their short films both on the airline’s web site at delta.com and on Delta on Demand, the airline’s industry-leading in-flight entertainment system. All five finalists received a trip to Park City, Utah, the site of the 2008 Sundance Film Festival, to attend the celebratory party - courtesy of Delta. The winning film was chosen from five films through audience balloting at delta.com and on Delta on Demand from Dec. 3, 2007 - Jan. 15, 2008.
“Delta is proud to recognize new filmmaking talent and celebrate independent film as a returning sponsor of the Sundance Film Festival," said Tim Mapes, vice president of Marketing for Delta. "We congratulate Robert Kirbyson, as well as the other talented finalists who have all produced truly inventive and entertaining short films.”
"I am honored and very excited to win this award, and am grateful to Delta and GenArt for this opportunity and recognition,” said Kirbyson. “I guess this means I'm now emerging."
This year, nearly 150,000 passengers viewed the five finalist films in-flight on Delta on Demand, with an additional 200,000 viewings taking place at delta.com.
The four other finalist films included:
Slow” by Kurt Kuenne: a depiction of a traffic safety worker who is accidentally caught in the background of a newspaper photo drastically changing his life forever.
“Tales of a Mere Existence: Conversation” by Levni Yilmaz: how a simple trip to the video store can bring up everything that’s wrong with your relationship.
“T’is the Season” by Bob Giovanelli: when a little girl goes to see Santa Claus, she is disappointed to find he is on a break. Fortunately for her, she stumbles on a somewhat unorthodox replacement.
“Morning Fall” by Edward McGinty: a mysterious man wakes up on the side of the road, injured and confused; Who is he? Where does he come from? And where will he end up when he can’t find his way home?
Delta’s first Fly-In Movies winner, Phillip Van, who was awarded the win by delta.com and Delta on Demand viewers in 2007, for his film “High Maintenance”, was honored on June 9, 2007 with a silver medal in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 34th Annual Student Academy Awards® competition.
Throughout the 2008 Sundance Film Festival, SKY360 by Delta - Park City, an experiential lodge showcasing Delta’s products and service offerings, played host to exclusive premiere parties and events, and opened its doors to the public. The lodge also served as the site for the WireImage Portrait Studio, where filmmakers, casts and industry executives posed for their official Festival portraits.
“SKY360 - Park City provided us with an ideal opportunity to host high profile Sundance Film Festival events, as well as welcome Festival guests to experience firsthand Delta’s new and distinctive products,” added Mapes.
SKY360 by Delta - Park City guests relaxed in Delta’s comfy, all-leather airline seats while sampling Delta on Demand which features a wide selection of movies, HBO, music and video games – all available on demand. Delta’s new full-flat bed seating in personal sleeper suite configuration was also available for guests to enjoy. The suites recline to multiple comfortable positions, including a completely flat surface that offers travelers a six-foot three-inch bed. In addition, SKY360 - Park City guests enjoyed selections from Midnight Sky – a signature cocktail program created exclusively for Delta by nightlife proprietor Rande Gerber – and food selections designed by Delta’s culinary partners, chefs Michelle Bernstein and Todd English.

Chertoff: Tougher ID rules for borders
WASHINGTON - New border-crossing rules that take effect in two weeks will mean longer lines and stiffer demands for ID, including for returning Americans, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said Thursday.
A driver's license won't be good enough to get you past a checkpoint at the Canadian border, Chertoff said. That will be a surprise to many people who routinely cross the border, but Chertoff bristled at criticism that such extra security would be inconvenient.

Delta Rolls Out the Red Carpet for Filmmakers, VIPs, Festival Attendees At the 2008 Sundance Film Festival With the Opening of SKY360* by Delta
Warm, rustic two-level lodge to host WireImage Portrait Studio and premiere parties Delta to announce winner of airline's second annual Delta's Fly-In Movies contest at unique venue
ATLANTA, Jan. 15, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) is once again proudly supporting independent film as a returning sponsor and Official Airline of the Sundance Film Festival. The airline will roll out the red carpet for filmmakers, VIPs and Festival attendees with the opening of SKY360* by Delta - Park City, a two-story, stylish sky lodge experience available Jan. 17 - 26. Throughout the 2008 Festival, SKY360* - Park City will host private premiere parties and events. It will also serve as the exclusive location for the WireImage Portrait Studio where filmmakers, cast members and industry executives will have their official Festival portraits taken.
"Delta is proud to continue supporting emerging filmmakers and independent film as the Official Airline of the Sundance Film Festival and through our second annual Delta's Fly-In Movies contest," said Tim Mapes, Delta's vice president of Marketing. "SKY360* by Delta offers our Park City guests a quiet retreat where they can experience firsthand the unique elements of Delta, including our new full-flat bed seating and state-of-the art in-flight entertainment."
This comfortable retreat has a hip lounge feel wrapped in the ambiance and texture of a warm, rustic lodge. Located at 449 Main Street, SKY360* - Park City serves as a quiet refuge from the busy streets of Sundance, offering guests plush leather seating, wooden banquets, a fireplace, plasma television screens, music and more. Guests to the lodge can even sit back and relax in one of Delta's comfy, all-leather airline seats and sample Delta on Demand, the airline's state-of-the-art digital entertainment system which features a wide selection of movies, HBO, music and video games -- all available on demand. Delta's new full-flat bed seating in personal sleeper suite configuration will also be available for guests to enjoy. The suites recline to multiple comfortable positions, including a completely flat surface that offers travelers a six-foot three-inch bed. Other amenities available to guests of SKY360* - Park City include:
-- a well-stocked bar, featuring selections from Midnight Sky -- a signature cocktail program created exclusively for Delta by nightlife proprietor Rande Gerber;
-- food selections designed by Delta's culinary partners, chefs Michelle Bernstein and Todd English;
-- Godiva Hot Cocoa in four flavors - Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, Mocha and Caramel;
-- Wi-Fi; and
-- world class service from Delta's renowned flight attendants.
To further demonstrate Delta's commitment to effect positive environmental change, SKY360*
- Park City will offer a "Go Carbon Zero" kiosk that allows guests to calculate the carbon dioxide emissions associated with their air or ground travel to Sundance and then offset those emissions by making a donation to Delta's nonprofit partner, The Conservation Fund, a leading environmental nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting land and water resources -- right from the lodge. In June 2007, Delta became the first U.S. airline to help its customers give back to the environment by buying trees to help offset carbon emissions associated with air travel at the airline's website, delta.com.
On Jan. 17 and 26, SKY360* - Park City will be open to the public. On the remaining dates, the space will host filmmakers and cast members who are visiting the WireImage Portrait Studio for their official Festival portraits during the daytime. In the evenings, SKY360* - Park City will host private, invitation-only events, including premiere parties and dinners, programmed through the airline's partnership with Gen Art, one of the leading arts and entertainment organizations dedicated to showcasing the best emerging talent in film, fashion, visual arts and music. Talent expected includes Sienna Miller, Josh Hartnett, Naomi Watts, Billy Crudup, Mena Suvari, Michael Keaton, Jason Reitman, Nick Nolte, Paul Giamatti and Morgan Spurlock.
In addition, Delta continues its support of emerging filmmakers and independent film with Delta's Fly-In Movies, the airline's second annual national film competition where the traveling and online public view five original short films on delta.com and on Delta on Demand and vote for their favorite to determine the winner. Through the second annual contest, managed by Gen Art, the five finalist filmmakers will receive a trip to the Sundance Film Festival to attend a celebration hosted by Delta at SKY360* - Park City on Jan. 23 where the winning film and filmmaker will be announced. Based on Delta viewers' choice, one filmmaker will receive a $10,000 cash award and a pair of round-trip tickets valid anywhere Delta flies worldwide.
The five inventive short films are available at delta.com/flyinmovies, with videos powered by Veoh Networks, and on Delta on Demand for most customers traveling on transcontinental flights through the end of January. These films include:
-- "Slow" by Kurt Kuenne: a depiction of a traffic safety worker who is accidentally caught in the background of a newspaper photo drastically changing his life forever.
-- "Tales of a Mere Existence: Conversation" by Levni Yilmaz: how a simple trip to the video store can bring up everything that's wrong with your relationship.
-- "Ctrl Z" by Robert Kirbyson: starring Tony Hale ("Arrested Development") as Stuart Barnes, an office loner with a lifetime full of regrets, but his luck is about to change. When a computer malfunction offers him the chance to magically undo his life's mistakes he takes full advantage, but how far is too far?
-- "T'is the Season" by Bob Giovanelli: when a little girl goes to see Santa Claus, she is disappointed to find he is on a break. Fortunately for her, she stumbles on a somewhat unorthodox replacement.
-- "Morning Fall" by Edward McGinty: a mysterious man wakes up on the side of the road, injured and confused; Who is he? Where does he come from? And where will he end up when he can't find his way home?
With Delta on Demand, the airline's advanced in-flight entertainment system, customers traveling on transcontinental flights between cities such as Salt Lake and New York will enjoy 18 channels of live television, up to 25 first-run and popular classic movies, HBO on demand, more than 3,000 mp3s, and a suite of 12 video games.

ENCHANTING MARBELLA
One of the jewels of Spain is the lovely town of Marbella, an exclusive summer resort for Southern Europe. It is situated on the 'Costa del Sol', Spain's region of Andalusia, and boasts 17 miles of beachfront, and a total of 24 different beaches. While the beauty of Marbella is its location on the sea, there is a rich history as you stroll through the narrow streets of Casco Antigua (Old Town), to the historic church and bell tower, and view La Trinidad and San Francisco convents, and the crumbling walls of a Moorish castillo. These narrow streets are lined with quaint shops and sidewalk cafés.
Down by the sea, stands the magnificent Puerto Banús harbor, with hundreds of expensive yachts, and luxury cars parked outside Nueva Andalucía's high-class boutiques and art galleries. It is a joy to discover the ruins of Muslim walls, the 16th century Plaza de la Iglesia and Casa Consistorial (Town Hall) that is contrasted by modern Marbella's music bars, discothèques, and fine restaurants. For art lovers the Museo del Grabado Español Contemporáneo exhibits works by renowned Spanish artists, Picasso, Dalí and Miró. As Costa del Sol's most popular resort, it is famous for its beaches, luxurious resorts, and extravagant boutiques, lively beach bars and restaurants, with more than 40 golf courses.
Marbella is home to a population of 300.000 people during the year and a million during the summer. Sheltered by the mountains of the Sierra Blanca, the average temperature all year long is 66 degrees and the sun shines around 315 days per year with less than 50 rainy days. Marbella feels like a small town with friendly people. There are also great day trips to take such as seeing the British colony, the Rock of Gibraltar, with its wild monkeys. Why not get two stamps in your passport? Marbella will enchant you with its charm and vitality.

Breathtaking Kauai!
When I first laid eyes on Kauai I thought I had found Eden. This most perfect island is called the Garden Isle of Hawaii. As the beauty of Kauai reveals itself, you find tall mountains rising from the lush greenery and sparkling blue waters splashing along black sand beaches. Truly you feel the hand of God as the panoramic views startle and amaze you. If your ideal vacation is in the tropics, then Kauai should be first on your list. Over 80% of Kauai's diverse terrain is inaccessible making the helicopter the best way to see its spectacular waterfalls, canyons, mountains, valleys, rain forests and secluded beaches. Waimea Canyon has been named the Pacific Grand Canyon. As the waterfall pours over the edge of the incredible high cliff, I remember skipping across the flowing water thinking, “Gosh, I hope I don’t slip!” Elvis filmed Blue Hawaii here and the fantastic opening to Jurassic Park credits Kauai’s lush canyons and wild seas. Don’t miss this tropical treasure, it will touch your soul!

History Is Alive at Plymouth Colony
In 1620 the Mayflower brought hope-filled Pilgrims to our rocky shores. In seven years they had built the busy village of Plymouth which grew into the current city of today. Fortunately for us Plymouth's history isn't lost forever, there is a wonderful re-creation of this small farming town built by English. It is easy to find yourself immersed in the year 1627, in the village of modest timber-framed houses, fragrant raised-bed gardens, well-tended livestock and fascinating townspeople of Plymouth Colony.
Although Jamestown (1607) was the first settlement, Plymouth remains the first permanent English settlement in New England. The people you will meet are costumed role players who have taken on the names, viewpoints and life histories of the people who actually lived in the colony in 1627. Each one has a unique story to tell. Learn about the colony's difficult beginnings or discover the gossip of the day. Ask about religious beliefs, medical practices or relations with the local Wampanoag Indians.
Your visit to the year 1627 is self-guided, so you are free to wander around the village at your own pace. Take this unique opportunity to explore the 17th-century perspective of the English who traveled across the Atlantic. It is a delightful venture into the past without the rough seas and the perilous journey.

Salem in Summer
One of New England’s most famous ancient towns is Salem, Massachusetts. It is a great walking city and absolutely charming to visit. Begun in 1627 as Naumkeag for the river it sits on, the village was renamed Salem in 1629. It thrived as a quiet farming and fishing community until the January of 1692 when it learned the brutal results of mass hysteria. When old doc Griggs couldn’t find a reason for two women’s illness, he declared “I can’t cure it so it must be the devil” and told the town that the women had been bewitched. His snap diagnosis caused the hanging death of nineteen men and women as well as the subsequent death of at least 5 others from prison and crushings. What a guy… Of course he wasn’t alone. There were judges and trials and false testimonies that make for amazing reading at the Peabody Essex Museum. To commemorate the poor accused villagers the city of Salem has gone all out with a Salem Witch Museum. Just around the corner from this depressing museum is the “House of the Seven Gables” that was made famous by Nathaniel Hawthorne. The book was dull but the house is interesting and a great tour. There are so many fascinating streets and shops that spending a day in Salem will keep you in high spirits on a bright blue summer day.

For a great family vacation, Sarasota, Florida is your perfect getaway. It’s white sandy beaches open to the vastness of the Gulf and amazing, breathtaking sunsets. The beauty of Sarasota will get your attention on your first visit. If you see Sarasota first from the window of an airplane, the colors of the Gulf of Mexico and Sarasota Bay, contrasting with the brilliant white sand of Longboat, Lido, and Siesta beaches, will make you anxious to see more. One of my favorite places is St. Armand's Key which has a lovely circle of shops and restaurants called St. Armand's Circle. The best in the area is called the COLUMBIA which prides itself on excellent Cuban dishes and delightful atmosphere. This is a laid back city that offers interesting homes such as that of John Ringling (of Ringling Brothers Circus fame) with unique Spanish architecture and lush jungle-like vegetation. European travel gave John Ringling a passion for art collecting. He has important works of Rubens and Titian among his collection which rivals the Metropolitan Museum of Art. In the area is the unique lavender seashell-design that makes the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall just incredible. With approximately 1/4 the population of Tampa, Sarasota has 9 colleges along with its dedication to water related sports. Have fun in a beautiful part of our United States by spending your vacation in spectacular Sarasota.

Tis Fun at the Globe Theatre in London
If you are longing for history to come alive, don't miss the Globe theatre in London this summer! When it comes to watching theatre, nowhere quite matches the history and intimacy of Shakespeare's Globe. To illustrate the first theme of renaissance, there are three classic Shakespeare plays - Othello, The Merchant of Venice and Love's Labour Lost. They explore the promise and the problems of the Renaissance period. Open all year round, Shakespeare’s Globe Exhibition is the world’s largest exhibition devoted to Shakespeare and the London in which he lived and worked.
In addition, housed in the vast UnderGlobe beneath the theatre, is a fascinating exhibition that explores the remarkable story of American Sam Wanamaker struggle to rebuild the Globe and brings Shakespeare’s world to life using a range of interactive displays and live demonstrations.
Find out how special effects were produced in Shakespeare’s time; join the cast and add your voice to a scene played by Globe actors; watch a sword-fighting display; see a working printing press in action or discover how actors are dressed in Elizabethan clothing. It is a fun and fascinating tour.
