Six Flags White Water Announces New Interactive Addition for 2010 Inspired by The Wiggles...The World's Premier Children's Entertainers

/PRNewswire/ -- Guests will find themselves wiggling with excitement as Six Flags White Water introduces its newest attraction in May 2010. The largest water park in the Southeast will transform into the wiggliest and wettest family destination with the introduction of North America's first Wiggles Water World. The Wiggles are the world's #1 preschool entertainers, having sold more than 23 million videos and 7 million CDs worldwide.

Wiggles Water World will boast five interactive sections spread over 40,000 square feet. The biggest adventure of all can be found at the center of Wiggles Water World on board The S.S. Feathersword, a 25-foot tall interactive play ship. Guests can become Captain Feathersword's first mate while exploring water cannons, telescopes, net climbs, secret crawl-throughs, port-holes and slippery slides.

And the fun doesn't stop there - adventure seekers can visit Wags the Dog's Kennel Slide Tower, splash around in Henry the Octopus's Pop Jets, explore Dorothy the Dinosaur's Spray Garden or take a ride on the Big Red Car Slide. The whole family can even grab a bite to eat at the Yummy Yummy Cafe.

"The Wiggles have touched the hearts of children for over 18 years and we are thrilled at the opportunity to bring this unique family experience to our water park," said Melinda Ashcraft, Six Flags Atlanta Properties Park President. "Wiggles Water World is the first of its kind in North America and will make 2010 a very special season."

After forming in Sydney Australia in 1991, The Wiggles have become the most popular children's entertainers in the world, combining music with early childhood education. Wiggles Water World will be designed to leverage the group's vast recognition and status among children ages 2-6. Since their inception, The Wiggles have franchised into other countries, including the development of Wiggles-themed play areas in five other Six Flags parks in the U.S.

Wiggles Water World will join a host of thrilling rides and attractions, including one of the tallest freefall slides in the world, a one-of-a-kind family raft ride and a giant wave pool. In 2008, Six Flags White Water was named "Best Private Water Park in the US" by Aquatics International.

More Flags. More Fun. More Affordable. 2010 Six Flags White Water Season Passes are on sale now for the lowest price of the season at $49.99. A Season Pass offers unlimited visits to Six Flags White Water, free tickets for friends, more than $300 in savings on in-park food and fun, and access to exclusive Season Pass events.

Wild Adventures Announces Updated Water Park and New Ride for the New Year

/PRNewswire/ -- It may be wintertime now, but the magic-makers at Wild Adventures Theme Park are busy thinking of summer fun!

This became evident when park officials today announced that, greeting visitors for the 2009 season, will be a sparkling and updated Splash Island Water Park, and it will be the biggest capital investment in recent park history.

"Welcome to paradise," said park General Manager Bob Montgomery. "We are totally renovating and improving what has been one of the finest and most popular waterparks in the region, with new theming, new facilities, additional seating and shade structures and a new water ride guests won't believe."

When guests enter Splash Island they will step into a Polynesian paradise with an all-new water ride, revamped restaurant and snack bar, expanded locker facilities and more shaded areas. Splash Island is a totally re-themed water park with additions and improvements to enhance guests' tropical experience. "We wanted to bring a little Polynesian tropical feel and adventure to the area," said Montgomery.

The new water ride, the Wahee Cyclone, is the only such water ride in the southern Georgia-northern Florida area. Wahee Cyclone is essentially a giant funnel, standing forty-eight feet tall and forty-five feet wide. Four riders in a cloverleaf-like raft plummet through an enclosed tube then free-fall into a huge funnel that rockets riders up one side and down the other until the riders are deposited into a pool of water.

Splash Island offers guests twelve-acres of wet fun with more than ten water activities, including six water slides, tropical lagoons, a 1,000-foot lazy river, a special area for kids, and a 20,000 square-foot wave pool.

Projected opening date for Splash Island is Saturday, March 28, 2009. Passport holders will be able to catch a sneak peek of the new Wahee Cyclone and re-themed water park March 21. As always, Splash Island is FREE with park admission. Wild Adventures Theme Park opens Saturday, March 14, 2009.

For more information and to plan your adventure, please visit our website at www.wildadventures.com or call 229-219-7080.

Southeast's Largest Indoor Waterpark Opens at Wilderness at the Smokies

(BUSINESS WIRE)--Winter weather won't stop the family fun in East Tennessee with today's opening of the southeast's largest indoor water park at Wilderness at the Smokies.

Named the Wild WaterDome, the new indoor waterpark spans more than 60,000 square feet with a see-thru, energy-efficient Foil Tec roof that lets guests tan indoors year-round. The facility features the Smokies SurfRider, Tennessee's only surfing simulator. The Surf Rider uses 50,000 gallons of water a minute to create a continuously moving sheet of water on which people can surf or boogie board. “It's like riding an ocean wave, but indoors,” says David McGregor, general manager of Wilderness at the Smokies. “Parents and kids alike will love the thrill of riding a wave in a safe and controlled environment.”

The Wild WaterDome also includes the Storm Chaser, a four-person tube slide that begins with a 58-foot drop into a giant orange-and-white funnel where riders swoosh back and forth up the sides of the funnel. Other activities at the waterpark, which is reserved exclusively for resort guests, include a 10,000-square-foot wave pool, two tube slides, an indoor/outdoor hot spa, a multi-level play structure with a gigantic dumping bucket and 50-plus play-and-spray features. Plus, there is a special toddler area with mini-slides and a swing tree.

Wilderness at the Smokies, the region's first full-service waterpark resort, also unveiled the property's 472 multi-room suites conveniently connected to the Wild WaterDome. The units include three different floor plans ranging from one to three-bedrooms designed to accommodate up to 16 guests. “The enthusiasm for our resort has been tremendous,” says McGregor. “We are already sold out for several days over Christmas break and we are receiving more and more reservations daily.”

Wilderness at the Smokies is located in one of the nation's most popular vacation destinations in the scenic foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. Phase I of the resort opened in June 2008 with a 234-room hotel and outdoor waterpark adjacent to the 240,000-square-foot Sevierville Events Center. The resort will be unveiling a second outdoor waterpark next to the Wild WaterDome in the summer of 2009. The developers are the owners of Wilderness Hotel & Golf Resort, America's Largest Waterpark Resort in Wisconsin Dells. For more information on the resort or for reservations, visit www.wildernessatthesmokies.com or call 1-800-867-WILD (9453).
