Alaska Airlines Inaugurates Anchorage-Maui Service

PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Alaska Airlines today inaugurates seasonal service between Anchorage and Kahului, Hawaii, on the island of Maui. The flights, which operate three days a week, continue through April 25, 2009.

Flights from Anchorage will depart Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 2:20 p.m. Alaska time and arrive at 6:35 p.m. Hawaii time. Return flights will depart Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 8:45 p.m. Hawaii time and arrive at 5 a.m. Alaska time.*

"There is a unique link between the people and geography of the state of Alaska and the islands of Hawaii that we are happy to celebrate with these new flights," said Bill MacKay, Alaska Airlines' senior vice president of Alaska. "We're excited to add Maui to the list of other warm-weather destinations that we'll serve this winter."

The new flights are operated with Boeing 737-800 aircraft, accommodating 16 passengers in first class and 141 in the main cabin. All flights to Hawaii offer Hawaiian-themed beverage and meal service. Customers in the main cabin are offered complimentary Mauna Loa macadamia nuts and a complimentary Mai Tai or POG juice, as well as a Hawaiian-themed meal-for-purchase option for $5. Customers in first class enjoy exotic meals such as macadamia nut-encrusted mahi mahi.

Inflight service includes Alaska Airlines' digEplayer, a personal entertainment system offering a variety of movies, television shows, music and other features.
